Explore the world of Italian bread baking with Master Baker Lionel Vatinet, owner of La Farm Bakery in Cary, North Carolina, and author of “A Passion for Bread: Lessons from a Master Baker”. Step back in time to learn the Old World methods that form the foundation of some of the best tasting Italian breads. In this special workshop, guests will:

  • Discover the history of the traditional Italian bread
  • Watch as Lionel demonstrates bread baking techniques, from hand mixing and kneading the dough, to shaping and proofing the loaves
  • Participate in a hands-on workshop, in which you will make ciabatta, foccaccia, and variations that will surely please the most discerning palates
  • Enjoy in a bread tasting, in which guests will learn the nuances of bread ingredients
  • Sip on wine that pairs nicely with the breads
  • Take home their freshly baked loaves
